Christening Bowls — NOTICE — Tradition of Baby Christening Bowls
In times well before Christianity itself, ceremonies welcomed children into the world. These ceremonies were extremely important in Roman times and in many ancient cultures. An ancient
pagan naming rite consisted of sprinkling the baby with water and naming the child after some renowned kinsman. The person who gave his name to the child presented him with a name-fastening
cup; from this practice springs the contemporary baby christening gift of a christening bowl or cup. Yesteryear's tradition of silver baby cups changed to meet the contemporary way of life in today's
ever-changing times. Old traditions never die; but they get side-tracked as new fashions and etiquette happen. However, the old traditions always find a way back to our hearts and way of life.
Boardman's Baby has renewed some of thos old and forgotten traditions ...
